Gluten Free Scones

April 5, 2011 by jlpenner 3 Comments

I like this recipe. I love that it is super high in nutrition, gluten free, has very little grains and is reduced carb. It’s a great little package for a treat!! I am not sure that these are “Scones You can Serve Guests” , though, not at least if they are expecting regular scones, because that is not what these are. But they are quite lovely and I think you will enjoy them. Maybe next time I will work on {Read More}

Note To Self: Never Garage Sale at $800,000 Homes

April 2, 2011 by jlpenner 18 Comments

My strategy, in general, for yard sales is to find community ones.  This way, even if we have to drive 25 minutes to get there they are all in one place and {Read More}

So I should have posted this yesterday.. but I just decided to make it today. It would be good to eat any day, though, not just St Patrick’s Day!!  My 5 year old daughter and I made this bread this morning and I am impressed with it- it’s really good! It has a bit of a whole wheat taste to it and is very moist.  I grind my own almond meal in my coffee grinder so the bits of almonds {Read More}

Did You Know Adoption Can Be Rewarding AND Affordable?

I can’t say it has always been easy- it has been a hard road. But I think any kind of parenting is hard- not matter if your children are bio or adopted, we all have our road to travel. I’m sure {Read More}

How to Organize a Coupon Binder

Below you’ll find my very first (woo!) Vlog (video blog) on how to organize a coupon binder. This is the method I use, please don’t feel like you have to use this method yourself, you don’t. You do what’s comfortable for you. Btw. you can ignore the little “thank you” at the end, not sure what I was doing there.   The binder close up : If you’re interested in the premade coupon binder I use in the video : {Read More}

My Secret Weapon Sweet Potatoes

So tonight we celebrated “Friendsgiving”, a tradition we have had for at least a couple years with our home group (Bible Study).  Last year we did it on Canadian Thanksgiving- which is on October.  Thankfully I still had a turkey in the freezer from the year before so I did not cost an arm and a (turkey) leg. It is pretty awesome- all our friends get together with our families and do the whole spread, with everyone’s specialties.  It’s really {Read More}
