   Great job on homemade vanilla extract. I have been making it for 2 years now. It will take longer than 8 weeks to get really good vanilla flavor in your vodka. It is fun to check it weekly and see how the vodka starts getting darker and darker as time goes on. Beanilla Trading Company is a great place to get vanilla beans I do it by a liter and it last for ever. Just add more vodka as you take out the old and it will turn in to vanilla as well. You can do tihs for a long time before having to add new beans. It is amazing.

   I also make my own vanilla. I love it. My grandmother bakes all the time so I took her some beans last summer nad asked my dad to get her some vodka. I need to ask her if she uses it.
