About Frugal Living Mom

Financial security.

Do you dream of it?  I know I did.

My family started feeling the effects of the recession about 1 year before many others we knew. We were self-employed in a luxury industry. Our incomes quickly dropped and we had to start making some changes.

It was scary and at one point we were 80,000 in debt and one month away from not being able to make our house payment.  I remember the feeling of panic we felt and had no idea what we were going to do.

I really was amazed how easy it was after sitting down with my husband to cut $500 from our monthly budget without it even hurting that much.

Things like:

  • Cutting down cable
  • Finding a new phone plan
  • Changing the way I shopped for groceries
  • And finding ways to increase our income

Were ways that we have saved around $6000 a year.

Because of our own journey learning to save money in hard times I started Frugal Living Mom to help people find things that they could get for free and put “frugal strategies” into their everyday lives.

I love being able to share these ideas to help others in their financial journeys.

Since those dark days we have been able to pay off out debt and still live in our home.  Financial security was in our grasp and it is in yours, too.

I am so glad you are here.

Hi Jen! I found this page on FB and just fairly recently noticed your picture. And realized that we're fellow Panthers. That's a nice picture of you, Jon and the girls. My family is also in Southern California and feeling the pinch. These are some really great deals. Thanks for sharing them!! Nikki
