Like most families these days our family has cell phones. I do still have a “dumb” phone..lol, my my hubby has a smart phone and my mom and her hubby are on our plan, too. They have a smart phone and a regular cell, too. We pay about $180 a month for our plan.. but they next time my husband upgrades his phone we are automatically getting bumped up to over $200. This is NOT a Cheap Wireless Plan! #FamilyMobileSaves
It’s expensive. I am often so surprised about how expensive it is. I am dating myself a bit but I remember when people still had the RENT their home phones!! That apparently ended in 1982. It was really expensive to buy a phone back then, and to be honest these days cell phone plans kids of remind me of that. You are locked into these LONG contracts and the monthly bills can be huge.
So a while back I started looking into these monthly, no contract plans offered by places like Walmart. I wanted to know if it really was less expensive to go that route. Walmart has Walmart Family Mobile through T Mobile and the Unlimited Plans monthly costs are $29.88 for Unlimited Talk and Text or $39.88 for Unlimited Talk, Text and Data.
Sounds GREAT to me. If my family were to switch, even if we all got the upgraded plan with data it would only come to $160 a month, which is $20 less that what we are paying now for 2 data plans and 2 regular plans.
So went I had a chance to test out the T Mobile Concord phone (which is only $79.88 on roll back right now) and the Walmart Family Mobile plan (you can see my whole shopping experience right here on G+) I jumped at the chance. I really want to see if this might be a good option for us.
So over the next month I will be testing it out and I will report back to you. So far it looks great. I easily activated the phone and have been using it for 2 days.
