This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Purina for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
The school year is coming to an end, but I just found out a GREAT way to encourage your kiddos to finish the year with a bang AND keep them reading all summer long.
Did you know that when kids read to their pets that it both increase their reading skills and confidence? We love that our local library has a program where they bring in dogs and let kids read their favorite books to them right there. It’s perfect for families that don’t have pets but still want to read to animals.
We are lucky that we have both a cat (lol.. he wouldn’t sit to be read to, though!) and a dog who is glad for the attention that reading gives them. Seriously, what pets don’t like the calm attention (except maybe my cat)?
If you haven’t given this a try with your kids, you really should.
Right now, until 4/30 Dollar General shoppers can “Do More With Their Dollar” and save a bunch of money on Purina products.
Purina is making four Dollar General digital coupons available and when you redeem one from 4/5/2015 through 4/30/2015, they will donate $1 to the Dollar General Literacy foundation up to $20,000. The Dollar General Literacy Foundation also awards grants to nonprofit organizations and schools that help individuals learn to read, prepare for the high school equivalency test, or learn the English language. The contributions from the promotion will be used towards these grants.
Here is a list of the great coupons to use at Dollar General on Friskies Dry and Wet foods, Alpo Dry and Tidy Cats Scoopable Litter:
