Paid in Full.. After 10 Years!! Mission (almost) Accomplished

April 24, 2012 by jlpenner 12 Comments

Wow.. my hubby got this the other day..

One more big debt to go but what an amazing feeling!! Debt has been an overwhelming burden in this household for over 5 years. This is not because we were terribly careless.. but I do look back and see the mistakes we made. We were never crazy spenders, but life took hold of us and we let it.

It’s a good lesson in preparedness.

Save money.

It’s the best advice I can give you. Don’t think your financial situation will always be stable. Live as if it won’t.

We still have one big bill left, that should be paid off in a year and half or less.

But today we rejoice in this small victory.

Congrats! I know how you feel! My van will finally be paid off in July, it will be amazing to have a bill paid off that I've been paying on for 7 years! Now I just hope the van stays in good shape for a while! Because with the last payment... my extended warranty also expires!

Congratulations to you!! We recently paid off our credit cards that reached 22k after I became a stay at home mom. Now onto student loans.

Congratulations! We are also working toward a life with limited debts, and it's great to hear about someone else who put financial stability first. (Especially when those little voices of "we can just make payments on it" sneaks back into our thoughts!) Enjoy the celebrations and all the good feelings this great accomplishment brings!

Congratulations! I am also working very hard to get my debts paid off. I work two jobs and just last week had to buy a new (new to me) vehicle. I had been planning for a year or so for this day to come, and was able to pay cash for the car. I am now trying to pay extra on a credit card, and then on to a hospital bill I have, before I start paying extra on my mortgage. One step at a time!!
