Not so “Deviled” Eggs Recipe and a Thanksgiving Recipe Linkup!!

November 20, 2011 by jlpenner Leave a Comment

Deviled Eggs RecipeOK, so this is not really super secret (I’m glad to share it with you!!) and they are not even truly deviled eggs, not in the traditional sense. Deviled eggs are suppose to be spicy or mustardy or something, and I don’t really like them that way. The only way I like them is the way my mom made them.. sweet and a little tangy.

So get this.. you want to know my secret? .. Ketchup..yep.

We love them, my daughter loves them.. she would eat the whole batch if I would let her. I am pretty sure she will pass on this super secret recipe.. I asked her today, “when you are a grown up, will you make me these eggs”? She said that she would 🙂

Let’s get down to it..

Not so “Deviled” Eggs

Ingredients
9 hard boiled, peeled eggs
2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise or Miracle Whip (I actually prefer MW- but I don’t like the long list of ingredients of MW)
1 tsp honey (optional- use only if you use mayonnaise)
2 tablespoons Ketchup
Paprika (for sprinkling)

Directions
Cut hard boiled, peeled eggs in half lengthwise and scoop out yolk. Place yolks in a small bowl and mash with a fork. Add 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or Miracle Whip, honey and ketchup to mashed yolks and mix until smooth. If mixture is too dry add last tablespoon of mayonnaise or Miracle Whip.

Use a spoon (or a pipping bag if you want to be fancy) to fill the egg whites and smooth down.

Sprinkle with paprika if you wish.

Enjoy!! Let me know if you try them..
