How to Get Stuck Muffins Out of the Pan

December 15, 2015 by jlpenner 3 Comments

Seriously, there is nothing more frustrating than doing everything right and your muffins still stick to the pan.

That’s what happened to me tonight. I was making some for my daughter’s Christmas Party since she is gluten free and I needed to provide her with a treat.

I sprayed the pan well with non stick spray, baked them and brought them out to cool. I turned the pan over and…

Nothing.

They were all still in there.

Out came the knife to run around the edges.

Nothing.

Those suckers were not moving.

So it was either go out and buy her some or figure something else out.

The freezer.

After I let them cool for few more minutes I stuck them in the freezer for about 1 hour. At the end of the hour I brought them out, ran the knife around them again…

And out the popped. Whole. Not broken and yucky.

Hooray!

I would guess you could try this on cupcakes or baked donuts! Let me know if you do.

I use butter to coat the muffin tin before putting the batter in and when they cool regularly I'm able to get the muffins out without it getting stuck to the pan.
