Easy Tips on Keeping the Holiday Chaos Under Control #Ad

Well, this holiday season is in full swing.

Who is feeling the stress yet?

In the 1st post of this series, I talked about How I Reduced My Holiday Stress and Replaced it With Love and gave 3 suggestions on keeping the stress down and making the season more meaningful by:

  1. Focusing on Yourself
  2. Being Together
  3. Giving

And I would have to say that I have actually done them!

Letting yourself go is so easy. You get caught up in life and business, and you can forget to take care of yourself. I have had a great time searching online for beauty tips (like how to do your own blow out for your hair.. which btw, works, and this 3 minute workout.) It’s been fun buying some new makeup and focusing on looking great even on days I am just home blogging.

Being together has been fun. Our whole family joined some friends for an outdoor showing (we live in San Diego, lol) of ELF with hot chocolate and S’mores. This was a great, pretty much free event and was fun for all!

We have not gotten to specific holiday giving yet. But my husband and I did discuss if it might be time for our family to start doing some volunteering at a local homeless shelter that a friend of our works through.

One of the things that I love doing every season to keep the budget in check and to reduce stress is make a Christmas gift budget and a list of those we are giving to. It is not necessary to give to EVERYONE you know. Doing that is very stressful and can cause you to spend way too much. Making a list decreases stress because it keeps your gift list realistic. It’s easy to cross off names as you buy your gifts and when you are done, you are done.
