Alarm Clock and Other Torture Devices

Alarm clocks.. especially the “beepy” kind kinda strike fear in my heart.

When I hear them on TV I have this automatic cringe reaction.. close to the same as watching someone get a shot.

They are the worst.  I can’t figure out how someone thought getting scared awake would be a fabulous idea.  Who in there right mind likes waking up in a panic?

In high school I actually “trained” myself to wake up 1 minute before the alarm would go off so I didn’t have to hear it. If I did I would basically hyper ventilate.

My poor little daughter last night must have played with the alarm clock next to her bed and at some point in the middle of the night it went off and she had no idea what to do.  She eventually came into our room  and my husband and I woke to some kind of muffled sounds.  She was so panicked that she could even communicate what was happening.  My husband had to sleep in her room after that and even then it took her an hour to go back to sleep. My poor baby..

I truly think that working at home and being able to mostly leave any sort of alarm clock (even the radio one I now use, which is better) behind is seriously one of my greatest joys in life..  I can breathe a little easier.

What things in your life seem like torture devices and are just normal to other
