100dayssavingsThere’s no shame in having a hard time saving. Many of us do!

Instead of relying on yourself to save money every paycheck, make it automatic. If your bank does it automatically for you at set intervals, you won’t have to worry about making yourself do it. The money will be out of your account before you even have the chance to spend it!

You can do this in a few different ways. First, you can have money from your checking account automatically transferred to your savings account at the same bank. This might be difficult if you can easily switch money between savings and checking, as you might be tempted to take money out of savings.

You can also have money automatically withdrawn from checking and transferred to a savings account at another bank. This reduces your temptation to spend that money. Set up auto-withdrawal to happen on the day that your paycheck hits your bank account.

This makes saving a natural part of your routine! Just be sure to withdraw funds to your checking account a couple days before you need your money—it often takes a couple days.
