100dayswaterSoda has become an integral part of most American households. It’s easy to see why—it’s sweet, caffeinated, and delicious to most people. But it’s also a huge waste of money! A 12-pack of soda usually costs at least $3.99. For a family of four, drinking one can per person per day, that’s $40 per month just on soda.

In addition, soda can cost you money in another way. People who drink soda are more likely to have digestive issues, cavities, and other health problems. Simply put, the long-term effects of drinking soda are not worth the short-term enjoyment of the drink.

Save yourself lots of money every month by dropping soda from your family’s diet entirely. Water is more healthy, more hydrating, and much better for you. It might be hard for your family to drop the soda habit, so make it as easy on them as possible. Get everyone their own water bottle, keep fresh fruit around to make the water taste better, and keep ice in the freezer at all times. It might take a couple weeks to break the soda habit, but once you do, you’ll never want to go back.

And think of all the money you can put aside for Christmas!
