100daystutorKids everywhere are starting to get into the swing of school, which means that those who are struggling are really starting to feel the effects of it. If you have a knack for explaining things to kids, tutoring is an easy way to make some extra money in the weeks leading up to Christmas. If you enjoy it, you may even decide to keep on doing it!

One of the easiest ways to start getting tutoring customers is to reach out to parents in your child’s group of friends. Even if your child is too young for school, many of her friends likely have older brothers and sisters. Just casually mentioning that you are doing tutoring can bring in quite a few referrals.

If you have knowledge in a specialty area, like physics or Spanish, be sure to advertise that. It’s easier to find a tutor for second grade math than 11th grade physics or Honors Spanish! If you are fluent or knowledgeable in one of these areas, you can contact teachers at schools near you and let them know what you’re doing. If they have students who need your services (and believe me, they do), they can set you up.
