100daysdiscountsEver ask for discounts?

So few people try this little trick that the ones who do try it are often successful. When you are buying a lot of gifts at once, the store may be willing to give you a discount on your total purchase. This often works really well with locally-owned stores that want to reward you for not shopping at big-box stores. Get friendly with the owners and employees of local stores, and you can ask for a discount without feeling uncomfortable.

You can find out about “secret” discounts like these by “liking” local retailers on Facebook. They may have special discounts running for Facebook fans only. Saving your big purchases for discount days like these can help you save lots of money.

It’s also a good idea to ask stores about frequent customer discounts. Some place will give you 10% off after ten visits, but they may not advertise their discounts.

Remember: it’s easier to ask for a discount at a place you shop at frequently.
